Hi!  Thanks for visiting our website.  

We are North East Humanists.

Maybe you have heard about Humanism and wish to find out more about it, or maybe you are a Humanist and are thinking of joining us and becoming involved in the things we do.

Whatever the reason for your visit to our website, you can find out more about Humanism and about North East Humanists and what we do by looking through this site. 

But as a starter here's some key points about our major Humanist beliefs and about North East Humanists. 

- We’re a community of people who aspire to a fair, balanced, ethical and democratic society whose members take responsibility for their own actions and care for others.

- We believe that human experience and rational thinking provide the only source of both knowledge and a moral code to live by.

- We do not believe in gods or supernatural beings. 

- We reject the idea of knowledge 'revealed' to human beings by gods, or in special books.

- We believe that we only have one life, and that while we’re here we should strive to enjoy well-being, be happy and improve the world we live in.
